Associated rites include prayers of good wishes for the deceased to be reborn in the pureland of Amit\u0101bha&#8217;s Blissful Paradise (Sukh\u0101vat\u012b), and the casting of small votive images (<em>tsha tsha<\/em>) from any fragments of bone that may remain after the cremation has been completed. &nbsp;&nbsp;Taken as a whole, such rites are designed to ensure that the good <em>karma<\/em> of the deceased is used to maximum effect so that he or she may be liberated from bondage to an endless cycle of confusion and pain, obtaining instead the three <em>k\u0101ya<\/em> of an awakened being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the relevant texts have been gathered together in the present volume, which thus contains a full set of instructions for those who find themselves called upon to care for the Buddhist dead. &nbsp;Together with the Tibetan texts and English translations, this book contains transliterated prayers that may be chanted with greater ease on such solemn occasions, with full explanations of how to perform a full Buddhist funeral ceremony, by either burial or cremation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>May this work bring happiness and comfort to the living, as well as blissful liberation to the deceased!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of immense practical value, this book must surely find a place in the library of every Buddhist centre and private home in the land.&nbsp; As it has been wisely said, one never knows which will come first: tomorrow morning or the next life.&nbsp; These prayers, therefore, should be kept close at hand at all times as a powerful blessing for the living and the dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CORRIGENDUM<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>A Cloudburst of Blessings<\/em>. &nbsp;On p. 231, the final line of the verse that begins \u201cH\u016a\u1e40 This is the deity Am\u1e5btaku\u1e47\u1e0dalin &#8230;\u201d &nbsp;should read: \u201c Now you receive the empowerment of control over all your karma.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Addition for download as PDF:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a title=\"Body mantra\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wandel-verlag.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/Body-mantra.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Body-mantra (82 KB)<\/a><br>six mantra of purification to be attached to the body<\/li><li><a title=\"Mandala of Avalokite\u015bvara\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wandel-verlag.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/Mandala.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mandala of Avalokite\u015bvara (10,4 MB!)<\/a><\/li><li><a title=\"Mandala of Avalokite\u015bvara\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wandel-verlag.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/Mandala_sm.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mandala of Avalokite\u015bvara (small: 94 KB)<\/a><br>To be placed beneath the corpse prior to disposal by burial or cremation, for the empowerment of the deceased.
