When people in the West develop an interest in Dharma they rely on books to help them understand the diversity of views and how they function together on the path. We have come to Buddhism after receiving a modern education that has a materialistic orientation and so we have to try to not mix our western ideas with the teachings of dharma. If we take Dharma to be a ’thing’ that one can add on to our existing beliefs then we are likely to become confused. Dharma is a path to freedom and we can most easily explore this by taking it on its own terms.
It is for this reason that we need accurate translations to support the live teachings we receive. But translation is not easy and requires patience and sustained effort to bring the dear meaning into our own languages. Therefore please support the work of translation and publishing by offering your skills and your financial help.
